Third-party notices
VelaStream (the "Application") includes or uses the third-party components listed below. Each component remains under its own license. This file is also shown in the Application under Settings > About & Diagnostics > Third-party notices, and a copy is placed next to the executable at build time.
VelaStream is a player for playlists and streams that you supply. It does not provide, host, sell or distribute any IPTV streams, subscriptions or media content.
1. libmpv (mpv), LGPL v2.1 or later
- Component:
libmpv-2.dll, the mpv media player library, used for playback. - License: GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 or later (LGPL-2.1+). The bundled build is the LGPL configuration (
-Dgpl=false), not the GPL build. The Application logs the loaded build on startup and writes a warning if a GPL build is loaded. - Source: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv (website: https://mpv.io)
- Windows build: LGPL builds published by zhongfly/mpv-winbuild: https://github.com/zhongfly/mpv-winbuild The bundled file is the "mpv-dev-lgpl" package from that project's latest release at the time it was fetched (scripts/fetch-native.ps1, SHA-256 verified). At the time of the LGPL switch this was mpv 0.41.0, build 1114.
- Replaceable library:
libmpv-2.dllis a separate file in the Application folder. It is not statically linked into the Application's executable. You may replace it with another compatible libmpv build (for example one you built yourself from the sources above) to use or modify the library, as the LGPL allows. - Build line: the version and LGPL/GPL status of the loaded build are written to the app log at startup and are included in "Export diagnostics".
2. FFmpeg, LGPL v2.1 or later
- Component: the FFmpeg libraries (for example libavcodec and libavformat) used by libmpv for demuxing and decoding.
- License: GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 or later (LGPL-2.1+) in the LGPL configuration used by the bundled libmpv build.
- Source: https://ffmpeg.org (downloads and source archives: https://ffmpeg.org/download.html)
- Replaceability: the FFmpeg libraries are supplied as part of
libmpv-2.dll. The same replaceability statement in section 1 applies.
3. Newtonsoft.Json 13.0.3, MIT License
- Component: Newtonsoft.Json (NuGet package
Newtonsoft.Json, version 13.0.3). - License: MIT License. Copyright (c) 2007 James Newton-King.
- Source: https://github.com/JamesNK/Newtonsoft.Json
MIT License Copyright (c) 2007 James Newton-King Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software. 4. Microsoft WebView2, Microsoft license terms
- Component: Microsoft.Web.WebView2 (NuGet package, version 1.0.4258.31), used to show the YouTube trailer player and related web views.
- License: the package and the WebView2 Runtime are provided under Microsoft's license terms, not an open-source license. The Evergreen WebView2 Runtime ships with Windows 11 and can be installed on Windows 10.
- Source and documentation: https://github.com/MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Feedback
- If the WebView2 Runtime is missing, the Application opens the trailer on YouTube in your default browser.
5. YouTube embedded player
- Movie and series trailers are played with YouTube's official embedded IFrame player (youtube-nocookie.com) inside WebView2. YouTube content is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
- VelaStream is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
6. TMDB
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Movie and series metadata and artwork come from The Movie Database (TMDB): https://www.themoviedb.org
- TMDB data is subject to the TMDB terms of use: https://www.themoviedb.org/terms-of-use
7. Sports data (ESPN and SofaScore)
- The Sports section reads scores and schedules from publicly reachable ESPN and SofaScore web endpoints.
- VelaStream is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by ESPN or SofaScore. Their data, names and logos belong to their respective owners and may be subject to their own terms. Availability is not guaranteed; the Application shows a "data unavailable" state when a source does not respond.
8. Image and DNS services
- Artwork hosts such as image.tmdb.org and BunnyCDN may be resolved through Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) over HTTPS when the DNS-over-HTTPS fallback is enabled (Settings). You can turn it off in Settings.
